If you live far away, or you are unable to come get your packets early, you will also be able to pick up your packets and race shirts, bibs, etc, on race day, near the start line.
For your convenience, there will also be a bag drop near the start line, for your dry clothes and valuables. You will need to bring an ID if you want to drink beer after the race.
We recommend that you please arrive at the race at least 1 hour before your start time.
This will give you time to: park, pick up your race packet, pin your bib on your shirt, stretch, drop off your bag at the bag drop, etc, etc.
Your race shirt will be given with your packet, and must be worn on race day!
Parking will be in the parking lots behind the YMCA.
We will have signs and parking attendants. The parking lots are very close to the start / finish lines ... within about 200 yards.
Start times will be staggered. We will send off teams every minute, beginning at 10:00 am.
THE RACE ROUTE:
The race route will be clearly marked. This race is mainly along a scenic cross country route, so there will be very little traffic to deal with. The race will be approximately 7-8 km long. We think it will take even the fastest teams over an hour to complete the race. It WILL be a fun day!!
Along the race route will be 20 roadblocks (challenges or tasks). These will reward your balance, intelligence, coordination, memory, luck, and sporting and gaming skills. Your team must complete the challenge before continuing on with the race. You will need to have your bib checked off before leaving the roadblock. The Captain at the roadblock is in charge, and all teams MUST obey their instructions. They have the authority to make all decisions regarding penalties, etc, at their station. They will be instructed to keep the competition fair, and to make sure the race runs as smoothly as possible.
FOOD AND DRINKS:
The beer garden and food vendors will be open to the public as well. So have your family and friends come and cheer you on!! There is plenty of parking!
We have requested a sunny day ... but this is a rain or shine event!!
